What a fab site!
I need some advice please
Started BFL nearly 3 weeks ago. Doing workouts religiously (including morning cardio, leaving an hour before food). I'm having 4 or 5 small meals per day - using the foods allowed. Portion sizes are ok - using light bulb size as my guide .I struggle to fit in 6 meals. But calorie count is around 1200 to 1600 per day. I havent been going mad on my free day (food wise). I'm just about getting enough water in! But I've put on 1lb and my clothes feel tighter. I'm doing a myoplex milkshake at least once a day (for one meal)
I'm REALLY tired (especially for the past week). I nearly passed out after my cardio this morning - so broke the '1 hour wait' rule and scoffed some cottage cheese mixed with yogurt.
I have about 2 stone (28lbs) to lose (but dont expect to lose it all in the next 3 months). I am 5ft9 and I'm 36. I've been on a Very low calorie diet for about 18 months - which finished about 18 months ago - and my metabolism and muscle mass was shot to pieces. Since then I've been excersizing and eating 1500 cals per day - still with no weight loss. So I thought I would try this.
Am I doing enough? Will the weight ever come off? And Am I eating too much/too little? Any ideas anyone?
Any help much appreciated!
Also can I eat bananas?

It sounds like your metabolism has slowed. I know this sounds crazy, but you need to eat more! Make sure you stick to the authorized food list. Also, when measuring portions, carbohydrates should measure about the size of your closed fist, and proteins should measure about the size of your palm. Try to get in all 6 meals. Skipping that last meal could be what is keeping your metabolism slow. And...if you're sticking to the authorized foods list and you're making sure that your portion sizes are correct, you shouldn't have to worry about calorie counts. You can also try using the Eating For Life cookbook. The foods in there are really tasty, and it's just enough to satisfy your appetite, with leftovers (that saves me a TON of time in food preparation).
Also, stick to it!!! The weight will eventually come off. For some reason, week 6 is the magic week for women. I did this two years ago (today is actually my first day back!!!) and I ended up losing 15 pounds. After 6 weeks, I noticed a big difference in my size, and some in my weight. Remember, you are building muscle while you are losing fat, so at first you won't see much difference. But once muscle begins to build, your metabolism will get a big boost and the weight will start coming off. PLEASE don't give up!!
