Questions & Answers

Q: What are the primary differences between Body-for-LIFE for Women and the original Body-for-LIFE book?

A: Body-for-LIFE for Women is based on many of the tried-and-true principles from the original book, but also takes into account that women are mentally and physically hard-wired differently than men. Based upon new women’s health information, Dr. Peeke has provided a customized program to address women’s unique needs.

Q: Why does Body-for-LIFE for Women say that scale weight is no longer the essential indicator of health and wellness in a woman?

A: Dr. Peeke shows that the best predictor of a woman’s health and fitness is her body composition. It’s not about the quantity but the quality of her body that defines a woman’s wellness. The goals are to minimize body fat and optimize muscle. By doing so, a woman decreases her risk of breast cancer, diabetes and heart disease. And she looks fit and firm while feeling energized.

Q: Did all the women in the book follow the original Body-for-LIFE program or the Body-for-LIFE for Women program?

A: The women portrayed in the pictures throughout Body-for-LIFE for Women achieved their 12-week transformation through the original Body-for-LIFE Program, and their stories inspire all women to push themselves as best they can. The book also features stories of Dr. Peeke’s patients who have achieved their transformations using more intense guidance over longer periods of time while following the Body-for-LIFE for Women customized approach. Whether it’s 12 weeks or 12 months, each woman achieved her transformation—for life.

Q: There seem to be some differences in “authorized” foods between this book and the original Body-for-LIFE. Which one is correct?

A: Body-for-LIFE for Women presents foods that are specific to the unique nutritional needs of women. Dr. Peeke has updated the original “authorized” foods list in Body-for-LIFE to include new information about foods that can help boost women’s immune functions, help them navigate hormonally induced cravings, conquer stress overeating and augment their reproductive functions. This incorporates new science as it relates to women’s wellness.
